Can you do an email merge with Outlook Express or only Outlook?

I have Outlook Express and I am trying to do an email merge using an Excel
database and the Word Mail Merge Wizard. I get all the way through the steps
and nothing happens (no email seems to be sent at the end). Is this because I
am using Outlook Express or is there something else I could be doing wrong?

Ask in an Outlook Express forum. This is an Microsoft Office Outlook forum.

Outlook Express is family of Internet Explorer and Outlook of the Office
family.
