Can you delete updates after installing

At the beginning of my windows folder there are a bunch of files that
begin
$Ntuninstallkxxxxxxxx. Can I delete these files. I used sytem mechanic
and it showed a high number of duplicate files referrerrd to as
service pack,.

Yes, you can delete them, but then you won't be able to uninstall the
updates if they give you problems. If the system works ok, then
uninstall them, but one doesn't find that out until a certain time has
passed.
