Hello everyone, I am a webmaster novice smile and use frontpage to maintain
my site. I would like to have a weblog. Is there a way to do this with
frontpage?

Thanks in advance

sure you can, you just insert a headline/date, type what you want and
publish.

Unless you're looking for the visitors to comment back to you.

FWIW if you have a sharepoint host there's an asp.net blog built into
FrontPage/sharepoint.

Yes, I am looking for them to be able to respond.

Hoping on a plug in or something.

Thanks Again,

there's a nice little blog here:
http://8pixel.net/downloads.aspx

made by an Icelandic guy. I've used it with FrontPage (as a subweb) and
it's worked great.

it's fairly easy to read the code and simple to customize.

No, but you could create a weblog with FP.

That is, if you are willing to actually use the keyboard, learn about HTML,
databases, and client & server scripting technolgies.

Also, isn't there a conflict using the terms "webMASTER" and "novice" in the
same context?

Creating a web page doesn't make you a "webMASTER" any more than knowing the
actual dimensions of a 2x4 makes you a Master Carpenter.

I am interested in this dialog.

What defines a weblog?

Is it not just a log maintained on the web, or are there some standards
about what it should look like and contain.

I assumed I could just link my home page to another on which I could write
my log and I have set up my homepage to do this
http://tandcl.homemail.com.au/ I haven't yet written anything, because I
don't know the answers to my questions in para. 2-3 above

some web logs (blogs) have additional features where the visitor can comment
back via your site about entries you've made, some have rss syndication,
online interfaces, visitor rating systems, etc.

but at the core of it, all it must be is a page where you write stuff.
(generally with an entry title and date).
