When I first set up my computer, I made five seperate
partitions. Now I am doing some video editing, and need
more space, so I would like to add two of my partitions
(E:, and F:) to C:. I have already copied the
information from the other drives to C:, but how do I
change the partitions???

Can you use PartitionMagic 8.0 is a good software! #1

To do a non-destructive repartitioning you will need third-party
software. Partition Magic is extremely good for this.

Someone on this thread said you can't resize a partion but that you can add
new one to extend a drive letter..

If there is no other way I think I would get a copy of Partion Magic and use
that instead. Recent version can do just about anything with NTFS partions
but earlier versions had some limitations.

This..

...might also be an option but I've never tried it.

Messing with partitions is dangerous - back up all data first!

If the partition you copied from can be deleted. Use NT/XP's Disk manager to
remove that partition then you can append by selecting both the C partition
and the empty one then click on the menu to append. I know this works with
adding a second physical drive to an existing drive to keep one drive
letter. If it is one physical drive split between partitions then you may
very well need more elaborate partitioning software.

That method (if it is what I am thinking) is not actually making a
bigger partition, but making two partitions look as if they are one, and
is not advisable. Better use third party software - I would use BootIT
NG, from http://www.BootitNG.com ($35 shareware - 30 day full functional
trial)

Or, if the E and F were enough taken together, delete them and use the
space for a new partition. It is not really a good idea to mix big file
storage in with the system either - it makes really secure backup of the
system that much more difficult.
