Can windows XP Pro support a VPN connection?

I would like to access my home PC running windows XP pro from another computer running windows XP pro via the internet through a VPN. Can this de done? or does my home PC have to be running a server OS? Can someone please let me know and send me a response to (e-mail address removed)

Yes you can do that! You can configure Incoming connections on one of your
XP and connect form another. Try below"

Yes, XP can accept one incoming VPN connection at a time. Here are pages that illustrate how to set

No, you can not use XP Pro Remote Desktop to access/control a Windows 98 box.

Look at either NetMeeting Remote Desktop Sharing (RDS) or UltraVNC. Both can provide an encrypted
data link to allow you to do what you want.

NetMeeting in built-in to XP and W2K and can *NOT* be upgraded. To start NetMeeting on an XP
platform go to "Start -> Run" and type conf at the command line to start the wizard. Look at this KB
article for additional help...

Please note that RDS is *NOT* compatible with XP Pro Remote Desktop.
