Hello,
OK I have heard the drift that it is impossible for XP Home to join a
domain, then I hear that it IS possible. If it is possible, can someone who
has done it tell me the steps.

TIA

It is not possible. I have contacted MS on the issue. Home=No Domain, Just

It is NOT possible. However, XP Home can access shares on a domain server
with proper setup.

OK, so XP Home cannot join a domain, so how can I access the shared folder?
what is the proper setup?

TIA

XP Home Edition can't join a domain or log into a domain. It can
connect to a domain and access domain resources. For details, please

The links from Steve give excellent and detailed information. Here's some
quick reference info. in addition -
Your username must be set up as a domain member on the server. When you try
to open a share you will always be prompted for your username and password
as Home cannot automatically reconnect to shares. If you don't see the
shares, check that NetBIOS is enabled in TCP/IP properties. For a batch
file that can be helpful for quickly remapping or automatically mapping
shares see below:
