can we use DVDR in CD Burner??

This is a multimedia question. Can we use DVDR/DVDRW in CD Burner?? Or we
need a DVD Burner?? The capacity of CDR/CDRW is usually 700MB, how about the
capacity of DVDR/DVDRW??

Please advise!
Thanks!

Unless you have a dual mode device, no, you cannot burn DVD media in a CD
burner. DVD media capacity depends on the type of media you use and the
capabilities of the DVD burner itself. You can store up to 4.7 Gig on
DVD media, and that will probably increase.

Just as Doug said but one thing that you can do is burn a CDR or CDRW in
these drives and put video on this CD in such a way that your DVD player
just may be able to play it. I did it with Nero. You will not get 4.7 Gig
but.......it just may do what you need.

DVD work with a different laser wavelength and have a finer groove
pitch.. DVD writers are designed to use either - CD ones will *not*
work with DVDs.

A basic DVD disk will be 4700 MB to compare with your CD 700
