Can we separated backup and restore AD from System-State.

I try to backup and restore System-State from Server1
to Server2 (different HW spec.), it caused Server2 fail to
boot.In fact, I just want to only get AD from Server1 to
Server2.Does someone has a way to separated backup and
restore AD from System-State.

To get AD from one server to another simply create a new
DC and a copy of AD will be replicated to it. The AD on
one server is basically the same as another AD in the same
domain. If I am missing the point I am sorry.

Sorry, I forgot some information. My purpose is to
backup to tape and take it to save house. In case of
accident, for examples fire,I can bring the tape restore
to the other system where it'll not effect some system
file of the other.
