We're using a small Dell 4600 PC, maybe 1-2 years old, and would like to
connect video devices, like my son's Playstation 2 or a DVD camera output.
We just want to use the monitor like a TV screen to watch.
Is this possible without installing another card or replacing the current
card (which was slightly expensive as I recall, becuase it's fast or
something, for games). Space is limited inside mini-tower. Could someone
recommend the best setup, internal or preferable external adapters/cards.
Here's setup so far...
DEVICES TO OUTPUT TO PC. These devices generally output to three round RCA
connectors (red=rightaudio, white=leftaudio, yellow=video), so the PC would
need the same three RCA connectors on its end. Some devices, like our
camcorder, do have what I believe is an S-connector (about 1/2-inch round
jack, with many pins).
PC's VIDEO CARD. The current card has a flat-like connect (like DB-25
looking) that the monitor connects to. It has another flat-like connector,
maybe for an alternate cable. It also has what looks like an S-connector.
PC's SOUND CARD. Typical Soundblaster, seems to have the phono-plugs (like
on a Sony walkman headphone) for left, right, microphone, etc., plus some
other things I think.
Thanks for any suggestions.
