Can U convert 2003xls file to 2000xls file

Is there a way to convert a MS Excel 2003 file to a MS Excel 2000 file,
without having MS Excel 2003?

I keep having these sent to me, and I downloaded the viewer for xls
2003, but does not have the option to re-save as different format.

Or is there something I can add to Excel 2000 to be able to view these
newer files?

Any advise would be great.

XL2000 and XL2003 share the same file format. No conversion is necessary
to read XL2003 files in XL2000.

Whenever I try to open a 2003XLS file in XL2000, the window flashes fo
a second, but no file is displayed. Have tried to re-install severa
times, with all the latest patches, fixes or service packs.
