Can the New TASK window be customized?

I have changed the columns in the Task List to different names but cannot
figure out to populate those fields without customizing the New TASK. Can
information fields be added to the New TAsk window to fill in the columns in
the TAsk list?
 
If you turn on in-cell editing for that view, you can type the information
directly into the view.
