Can"t find "My Computer"

When trying to select "My Computer" or any program from the "All Programs"
menu
at the "Start" button, the system will sometimes open a white screen then,
almost immediately, closes back to the desktop. However, there is usually no
white screen at all, the screen goes blank, then back to desktop. Right
clicking on the "Start" button and selecting "open" or "explore" gets the
ssame result.

You have a damaged shell (explorer.exe, with associated
files). These may also be blocked. See if you can cleanup
and defragment. If not, then you will need to format and
reinstall windows.
