2.3-1 Memory Bank Configuration
The mainboard supports a maximum memory size of 256MB(64-bit
technology)
or 512MB(128-bit technology for SDRAM: It provides two 168-pin
unbuffered DIMMs (Double In-Line Memory Module)
8 MB to 128 Mbytes DIMM memory module.

This is what is on the info for my mobo. but I can't tell how to get
512MB I don't see how. thanks for any help

Buy two 256MB CAS2 modules here, for best performance. CT32M64S4D7E

Those modules are special, and have 16 chips, 8 chips on each side.

Do not buy a module which has 8 chips only (all located on one side).
An 8 chip 256MB module is termed "high density" RAM and won't work.
That is why you have to shop carefully to get the right modules.
"Low density" modules with 16 chips.

Hi Paul and the chips I have in the machine now are pc100 the ones you
recomended are pc133 so I don't think I should get them. Thanks
anyways

I have a Tualatin processor on my board, with a FSB of 100MHz, and
the RAM also is run at PC100 speeds. Works fine. And that is PC133
RAM running at PC100 speed.

Why would they be listed on the Crucial site if they didn't work ?

And that is why the Crucial site is there -- you don't have to
rely on me for a RAM recommendation. I'm only explaining the
"high density" versus "low density" thing, because so many people
make that mistake (of buying 256MB memory with 8 chips total).

I'm assuming you will buy two of those, install them, and
remove the other RAM.

Low density PC133 memory is better than low density PC100
memory! PC"nnn" is not "you have to run that speed", it is
"this is the fastest we guarantee it". It's a bit like
buying speed rated tires, does it mean you HAVE to drive
130MPH constantly? No, it means it has higher capability,
and more of a stability margin at the speed you need.

Also, if you had read the notes on the Crucial page it tells
you this, that the memory is backwards compatible for 810
chipset.

Even so, if you just want to buy PC100 anyway, you can spend
more time with the hopes of finding it cheaper somewhere
else. I think some looking would find it under $50 per
stick but I haven't looked for any recently and can't know
what your time is worth.
