I have an Acer, and I am having problems with updates and google add ons.
Update tells me that I am missing a file, and I have to manually update
through microsoft and not with the actuall update window. In order to use the
internet I have to disable google add ons. I cannot go to many site,
(government) because it states that microsoft does not support it? I had this
problem before and I fixed it by a post on here, however, i cannot remember
what it was.
Thanks for any sugestions

Tell us a little more about your system.
What file is listed as missing?
What version of Internet Explorer and you using? (Sounds like you were updated to IE7)
Why to you use the google add ons? Could you get along without them?
If you do have IE7 have your tried the option of Starting IE without add ons? (Start - All
Programs - Internet Explorer - Start without add ons).

PS have someone show you how to spoof your email address when writing to the news groups.
Using your real email address is just begging for spam.

Hi, I have internet 7 on my computer. I have not added the google add ons,
they added themselves. I do disable the add ons, because a window pops up
telling me that they have to close internet browser, so I can get along
without the add ons, however, microsoft will not support many sites that I
have to go to, mostly government sites. I do not know which file I am
missing. I go to windows update, and they cannot update anything. They tell
me that I am missing a file, or some programs are not registered. I do not
use my hotmail addy to much, but I will go back to see how to hide my
address. I can give a fake one I think.
