Hello,

In Windows Explorer, under the Documents and Settings Folder, I have,
All Users,
Default User,
("My Login Name") Folder,
LocalService,
and NetworkService -

but now I also notice,
I have a Folder called TEMP (all caps).

I just don't remember seeing that "there" before.

Can someone tell me,
Has it always been there?,

or perhaps did it show up after I recently got a couple of Critical Updates
from WinUp a day or so ago ?

or maybe I'm just gettin' old :-)

Thank you

Sorry about the empty post, my cat has a tendency to walk across the
keyboard and reak havic......

It is not a normally there.
I'd look to a 3rd party application as the cause.

probably just another hidden account of 'dot net framework'
..but scan for junk anyway

This folder, TEMP (all caps), has as subfolders:
Application Data
Cookies
Favorites
Local Settings
andTemplates

Adaware and Norton show nothing.

I have a sneaking suspicion, that I may have mistakenly moved it to it's
current position, from wherever it actually belongs.

Under my Windows Folder I have a Temp folder, spelled exactly as that, Temp

Mark,
Could you possibly tell me, if you "do" have a TEMP folder (all caps)
located somewhere, that was put there by Windows ?

Thanks again.

I have no such folder. Is there anything in this folder that you need? If
not it is probably safe to delete.

A temp named anything is for temporary use.
Its automatic created.
You are just too curious, you dont need to do it.
But if nobody is curious about Windows, it will be the past.

Normally the:

Application Data
Cookies
Favorites
Local Settings
Templates

are directly under your username. Do you have these
folders under there as well as under TEMP? Could the date
the TEMP directory was created give you a clue as to when
it happened? Do a right click on it and click Properties
and it should tell you when it was created. Can you still
see your favorites in Internet Explorer?

I have a TEMP directory under C, but I created that myself
for an area that I keep temp files in.

Kim

Sounds like a user named TEMP was created.
Check to see if a user account named TEMP exists.
