Can share files but no internet

I am trying to network 2 desktops one runs xp and the other runs 98.The pc
with xp is the host computer which is connected to a broadband modem,the 2
machines are connected by ethernet cable,the trouble i am having is i can
share files between the 2 machines,but the 98 pc will not connect to the
internet.I have run the wizard various times with no luck,any suggestions?

When you ran the wizard, what options did you select for each computer? There
is a good tutorial for setting up ICS in this website:

For more direct help, start by providing ipconfig information for each computer.
Start - Run - "cmd". Type "ipconfig /all >c:\ipconfig.txt" into the command
window - Open c:\ipconfig.txt in Notepad, make sure that Format - Word Wrap is
NOT checked!, copy and paste entire contents into your next post. Identify
operating system (by name, version, and SP level) with each ipconfig listing.
