Can save movie only in certain format problem.

I am simply making a movie consisting of music (.wmv format) and words (which
i use the "titles and credits" provided by WMM). But i cant save the movie in
some formats i prefer. I can only save the movie in avi (pal) format which is
over 500MB! and some pocket pc format which is too small!

I want to save in format like "high quality video" or "video for LAN" but
will got error message.

Furhermore, this is the error message i got when saving the file, which i
think is absolutely nonsense as everything is already in place.

Windows Movie Maker cannot save the movie to the specified location. Verify
that the original source files that were used in the movie are still
available. that the saving location is still available. and that there is
enough disk space available and then try again

That error message is typical when using an unsupported filetype such as
MPEG but if you are absolutely certain that you are only working with WMA
(not WMV which is video) audio and Titles and apparently no video or still
images at all then that can't be the issue meaning there had to either be a
source file that was moved or a one that is bad/corrupt or a bad codec.
Check the cannot save a movie section on Papajohn's website for more insight
into what the issue could be.

So sorry, my music is in WMA format.
Anyway, it's definitely not bad codec problem, i think it got to do with the
"title or credit" because i try saving the movie only with music and it
works. However when i try to add the title and credit, it fails to save,
what's going on?

Rendering a low quality WMV like a pocket PC file uses a low amount of
memory.... rendering a DV-AVI file uses a medium amount... rendering high
quality WMV files needs the most...

it fits with the memory-related issues covered on the Problem Solving >
Can't Save a Movie page of my website.

That was my first thought as well but you can use the titles without any
background at all and they will display on a black background I already
tried just to be sure.

yes, I didnt use any background, it's black colour, only words, music (WMA),
that's all. Will look into memory matter. thanks

Nope, my memory is sufficient, the peak is not even half of what's available
i think i want to try reinstalling MM2, but how?
Can you show me the web?

Unfortunately you can't simply reinstall WMM2.1 since it comes with SP2.
You need to reinstall SP2 in order to reinstall WMM2.1 but before doing that
maybe simply doing a System Restore will do the trick.

My computer has 512MB RAM

Anyway, i try to increase the virtual memory from 1000MB to 2000MB, while
space available is 2990MB.

However, i still cant save the file in WMV format that i want.

What should i do? I even try making a simple credit 'hello' in 'black
background' which last only for 3-4 seconds, and without any music, but it
also wont be able to save!

please help...

It definitely sounds like an installation problem then and uninstalling /
reinstalling SP2 is the only way to reinstall WMM.
It could be a problem with an unregistered DLL file or something of that
nature but Papajohn or Rehan would have to guide you further if that is the
case as they seem to know a lot more on that particular subject than I do.
