can some one please help me on this? I keep getting this message. "Windows
Movie maker cannot save the movie to the specified location. Verify that the
original source files used in your movie are stil available, that the saving
location is still available and that there is enough free disk space
available, and try again."
I made sure I met all the requirements but I still get the message it's like
it wont allow me to save a long video because I tried saving a short 30
second video and it saved it. with no problems can someone please PLEASE help?

THANKS!

Graham,

I am also getting that message, when trying to publish a movie to my Hard
Disk as Windows Media HD1080p. I can publish the movie to DVD with no
problem, so all the files are there and compatible, and the original video
is 1080i, so I'm not trying to upscale, but change to progressive playback
from interleaved. WMM estimates that the movie would occupy about 1/2 Gig,
on a drive with 250 Gig available.

So, perhaps those extra details help... I am trying other publishing options
(720p, etc.) in an attempt to narrow this down.

here is the thing I downloaded the videos (music videos) from idesktop.tv
it's a website where one can download videos to thier computers I saved them
as Windows Media Audio/Video file. I imported them to movie maker organized
everything the way I wanted it to look and I tried saving it. I got the
message. I checked my computer and I have space I even deleted music I had
stored just in case and still the same thing. I really dont know what it can
be I tried everything. the video is 17:26:47 long but when I cut the video to
like 1:00 it saves with no problem. I tried saving only one video which is
the like 4:00 long and I got the message. I save it to what windows recommend
to play back in my computer. I even tried at anothers friends computer and
nothing same thing. I really NEED this because its for class assignment. what
can It be? thank you for replying to my first message.

I got around my error by either 1) using a lower resolution first or 2)
specifying a file name other than the default, something unique, not related
to the project name... or at least, one of those seemed to solve the
problem.

Which Windows are you guys using? XP or Vista?

What is the extension/format of the video that you are importing into MM?

I am not sure that I can help here, but the above info might help
others give you a solution. Most problems of this type are related to
incompatible source files, ether video, audio or image. Perhaps this is
your case. Saga
