Can save back to tape (Sony PC5 DV)

P

Pete Grant

I'm trying to save a movie back to my Sony DV PC5e camera
but it says

"Please wait while disk space is allocated. This may take
several minutes"

...then a few seconds later it says:

"Your movie was not recorded successfully to the tape in
your DV camera."

Now I'm checked my disk space...I have 77.4GB free (and
I've defraged it). (FYI, I have a 3GB Dell with 2GB RAM)
Also my camera is set to Play and the tape has enough
space and is set to record.)

The total movie is 50 mins long but I've found I need to
break it up into small 10min chunks or I get this
message. I suspect the problem is with the movie
file..possibly corrupt?? but I can save it to computer
fine and preview it fine in Movie Maker. Has anyone else
had these problems? Is movie maker just not very robust??

Hi Pete,

Try saving it as a DV-AVI file to your hard drive first, and then copying it
to your camcorder using the free WinDV utility. There's a link to it on my
Camcorders... Introduction page.

If the E in your camera model means 'Europe', then be sure it can accept
movies from your computer. Here's a link for you to check
