Can rules be applied to System Administrator emails?

Can rules be applied to undeliverable emails returned from System
Administrator?
Emails are being falsely sent from what appears to be my email using my
address book. However one address is incorrect and system admin is bouncing
these back to my mailbox.
As most emails from System Admin are important I have created a rule to
deleted all emails containing the incorrect email. However when they come
from System Admin they still come through to the Inbox.
Is there a rule in Outlook that overrides user rules when the emails come
from System Admin, or is it more likely to be created by the email managers
in our office?

I'd like to second this question. I have a need to create a rule on NDRs, but
normal processing won't work. Anyone?

Hi ben

You can setup a rule in the following way (outlook 2003 rule)

1. Apply this rule after the message arrives
2. from SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR (this is in the from box)
3. move it to the SPECIFIED FOLDER (I chose junk email, you can
choose to delete )
----important one step 4----
4. except if the body contains <DOMAIN.LOCAL>

replace Domain.local with the internal name of your exchange network.
To find out which one your exchange uses to reply with send a test
email to a non valid address ie. (e-mail address removed) and you will get a
reply.

In the body on the last line it will say something like
<server.microsoft.co.uk #5.4.0>
replace domain.local with your information

The exception will never apply. Internal NDRs in an Exchange environment have blank message bodies. What the user sees as a body in the UI is built on the fly from MAPI properties.
