Can pop-up commands be added to a word file upon opening?

I would like to add a pop-up command that instructs file users to change the

date if they change the file. Can this be done in Word?

if you insert a SAVEDATE field, that might work without any need for
user intervention. Every time it's updated (and updates are usually
triggered in Word at least each time you print, depending on settings),
it will show the date of the last save to the file.
