In the last three days, I have had three different users experience the same
problem. In each case, they were connected via VPN and after disconnecting
can no longer ping a DNS name. I have tried re-rooting, doing DNS /renew,
DNS /release, I have checked the hosts file, run SPYBOT on the computers,
etc and nothing works. IN one case doing an XP undo changes with System
Restore worked and in another it did not.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,

Arch

Arch,

Try "ipconfig /flushdns".

Paranoia comes from experience - and is not necessarily a bad thing.
