Can ping but cannot browse

using win xp sp2 I can ping www.google.ca and dns resolves to an ip
and works fine

but I cannot browse or email every thing was fine one day then the
next it wasn’t. sysrestore did not fix the problem I removed the
router and connected directly still the same. tried WinsockFix but
still nothing ran spyware apps and nothing turns up. I suspect
malware.
any ideas

Can you create another account to try out the connection the internet via
explorer.??

If that works how about saving your data else where then using the
"administrator" account delete your account and create a new one in your
name and copy the files back again.
