Can Outlook 2002 connect to Hotmail?

I've been able to download the connector, but once my Hotmail account loaded
to Outlook, my email wouldn't synch.
 
not sure if it's the problem, but Outlook will only work with the "pay for"
version of hotmail

As dlw said, only the paid version. You could Google for a program called
"Hotpopper" and find the last free version of it and use that. Worked for
me for years.
