I have tried uninstalling IE 6.0 with add/remove programs. It says it did, but did not. I tried going to the c prompt and deleting the Internet Explorer folder. Cannont do this. Seems there is some type of virus that will not allow me to uninistall the program. I am running Norton, and it did not pick up the problem. This has been going on for about a month and is driving me crazy, and I don't have far to go. Any help would be appreciated

Thank you

Nanette

IE will actually replace itself with the previous version if you upgraded it
previously. If you didn't, then it can't be removed at all. No virus, it's
the way that Microsoft have done it.

If this is not the issues, then please post the exact error message you are
getting or any bad symptoms your IE is giving you.

Try this: Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Browsing
Uncheck the Enable 3rd party browser extensions

If this clears your problem then find out who the culprit(s) is/are with
these tools.

Let AD-Aware Scan your system for advertising Spyware

and:

SpyBot-S&D

p.s Reset the 3rd party browser setting.

More: This may be caused by a third-party program (adware, spyware,
parasite).
Get AdAware and SpyBot and run them both. Keep them up to date.

I did do the recommended upgrade from Microsofts website directly. IE
will not work on my computer at all. I have to use Netscape and/or Opera
for internet access. I would prefer IE. Any suggestions on how to get it
to work again?
