SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME HOW TO SETUP MY ACCOUNT.

Also if I try they don't give me the option of changing the ports.
Gary VanderMolen said:The account setup in Windows Mail should not be asking you about
your Internet connection. That is immaterial.
For the Live.com account you set up in Windows Mail, when you
get a repeated request for username & password, and it does not accept the
username and password you enter, click Cancel. It should put up a
wordy error message. Right-click on that error message, copy, then paste it
into a reply here.
GIA08 said:The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be
correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this
problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the
"I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining
the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.
The rejected e-mail address was '(e-mail address removed)'. Subject '', Account:
'pop3.live.com', Server: 'smtp.live.com', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response:
'550 5.7.3 Requested action aborted; user not authenticated', Port: 25,
Secure(SSL): Yes, Server Error: 550, Error Number: 0x800CCC78

Go to Tools, Accounts, select that account, Properties, Servers.
The box for "My server requires authentication" must be checked.

Sorry guys I must be doing something wrong. Thank you Patrick about yahoo.
Gary I followed the link for windows and I didn't do something right. The
setup completed but then could not connect. Also then it kept asking me to
sign on with my user and password. Also do I set it to my windows user
because it also has me put in that I have sprint. Sorry if I'm a little slow,
but this is all new to me.
:
I gave you the Live.com account setup information in your thread "can't setup email".
Patrick answered the Yahoo account question.
