the host smtp could not be found. the host pop3 not found, pop3 server,
protocol pop3 port 110,secure(ssl)no socket error, eror number 0x800cccod

smtp and pop3 are not valid server names, even though they are valid
protocols.
The correct names depend on which email provider you are using, so ask them.
Many people choose their internet providers as their email providers also,
since
most internet accounts include one or more email acccounts. Or, you could
tell
us who your email provider is and see if anyone here already knows where to
find their instructions.

Are you trying to connect to this server from inside pizzatech.com.au? If
not,
your internet provider is likely to block attempts to reach port 25 of any
machine
other than their own outgoing mail server, to cause problems for spammers.
Ask pizzatech.com.au if their outgoing mail server allows you to connect
through any port other than port 25, and if so, where to find their
instructions
for switching to the other port. Note that port 80 is usually for HTTP
connections only, which Windows Mail cannot handle. Just trying all the
ports
is a very slow way to find out, since there are about 65,000 ports available
and it's unlikely that more than a few of them will accept outgoing mail.

0x800CCC67 SMTP_421_NOT_AVAILABLE Command not available.

I can't figure out how to reconcile that with the rest of the error message.
Is it still happening?

"harlan cannot send emails" <harlan cannot send

Are you connected to the pizzatech network directly - is that your ISP?

If it isn't, then the problem is likely that the ISP you *are* connected to
is blocking mail on Port 25. You would contact your mail admin and ask
for alternate port settings, or, use a 3rd party outgoing mail server.
