can not send email

Honeycutt

We can not send email. We have Charter cabole service. We always get an
error. We can receive but not send. We bought the computer at best best
buy. The famous Geek Squad want help unless you pay them to come to your
house. Charter communiction says it is a Windows problem. So pleae HELP.
We never had a problem until we moved up the world to Vista.
 
Hard to say without more details. Do you get an error message when
you try to send? If so, right-click on the error message, copy, then paste
it into a reply here.
We can't do much troubleshooting without that complete error message.
 
hi i have the same problem here is the error i get

'gerri & simon', Server: 'smtp.mail.yahoo.co.uk', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25,
Secure(SSL): Yes, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

I tried changing the port to 587 and the message reads:

Account: 'pop3.frontiernet.net', Server: 'POP3.frontiernet.net', Protocol:
POP3, Server Response: '-ERR authorization first', Port: 110, Secure(SSL):
No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC18.
Can you help?
 
I was able to get it to work. I wasn't entering my settings correctly.
