can not save jpg in IE6 Browser Windows XP

I'm not sure how I did it but I am not able to save JPG
files to my pc from the internet..??

When I click on a picture to save from the internet the
only option I have is bmp in the pull down box.

please help.....
 
The usual fix is to clear your cache.
IE-Tools-Internet Options-Delete Files (in the TIF section)

That seems to work about 98% of the time but if it doesn't, close IE
and reopen and do it again. Also it has been reported that clear
cookies helps, but ensure you save any that you need.
