I already have tried SFC /SCANNOW, spybot spyware software and virus scan but
did not work. Please help me to resolve subject issue. I am able to open
windows explorer, my computer, control panel. When I use internet explorer, I
can not close it until I end the task.

Hi Afzal,

Reinstall Internet Explorer. Go to the Control Panel/Folder Options/View
tab, set it to "Show hidden files and folders" and uncheck "Hide protected
operating system files [recommended]". Also uncheck "Hide extensions for
known file types".

Then, open Windows Explorer from Start/All Programs and go to the
C:\Windows\Inf folder. Locate the ie.inf file, right-click it and choose
install.

You may need to either insert your WinXP CD or know where your I386 folder
is located on the hard drive. You may also need to know where the
\ServicePackFiles folder is (usually under the Windows directory).

Thanks again for your help.

Hi Afzal,

Then the problem is in something loading in the startup group. Click
start/run, type msconfig and click ok. On the general tab, put the system in
selective startup mode, then uncheck the line that loads the startup group.
Click apply/ok and reboot. See if those applications open. If they do (and I
suspect they will), then recheck that line, go to the startup tab and
uncheck half the entries. Click apply/ok and reboot.

If the problem comes back, then it's due to one of the remaining checked
items. If it does not, then it is with one of the unchecked ones. Halve the
remaining entries and do it again, repeating the process until you can
isolate the one that is causing it. Post back with this information (or
simply leave it unchecked).

Hi Rick,
I have a good news for all who are having same problem. I got a tiip from
somebody at news group that one of spyware is causing problem and I should
try Micrsoft's spyware sofrware (beta version). I downloaded from
http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx
and ran. After deleting all detected spywares, I was able to open all
Windows applications i.e. Windows Explorer, My Computer, Networking.
Thanks for your help
