can not open simplified chinese file

i am using windows xp professional traditional chinese version, i found it
can not open the word file with simplified chinese name which downloaded from
email.
but on my windows 98, i install global IME, my office xp can open it without
any problem.

any software need to install for it? Thanks

You shouldn't need any new software to open, but it's possible that you
have something on your system inhibiting it...perhaps something like
Norton AntiVirus's Office plug-in.

The problem is :
i have two user, one use traditional chinese windows 98 + office XP, another
using traditional chinese windowsXP+office2000.

one day, the win98 user told me he can not open the file with simplified
chinese name file (word/excel) and view the simplified chinese word in
contents, then i installed global IME for xp, everything working fine.

after, the winXP user also told me the same problem, i tried to install
global IME, it prompted me the global IME is not for Windows XP, it for
windows 95, 98, NT noly. Then i try to install global IME for xp, it
prompted me again, said i am not using office XP.

So, what can i do solve this problem?
