can not open pst file

the file was created on anetworked computer from my office, transferred to a
dvd, i copied it to my hard drive and receive error message (1) properites
for information service must be defined prior to use and when I click OK (2)
an error message "file access denied YOu don't have permissions required to
access file. I am logged in as Administrator.

Also I can't change the attribute from read only. That returned an error
message "error occurred applying attributes"

Appreciate any insight into the situation

Sounds very much like a bad burn so the pst is corrupted

Did you remove the "read-only" attribute after copying it to HD?

thanks for the post.. I was unabel to remove the read only attribute even

What happened when you tried?

Did you try using "Scanpst.exe"? You can do a search for that feature on
your computer.
