can not open notepad

Last a few days, I can not open my .txt file with
single/double click and even with "open with". Only way I
can open .txt file is to open the notepad first and then
use file/open. The icon looks different too. Please help
me.

When clicking "open with" try to check "always open with
this program".

I already tried it last night. When I use right click
with "open with", its icon is wrong too. Initially, I
found "Open with" window has "Edit with Visual Studio"
choice. I deleted it. But it still not works. Please
advise.

There are viruses that can affect Notepad. What does a scan with a
current antivirus program (meaning a version not earlier than 2002 and
using updated virus definitions) show?
