can not open file I use all the time

I can not open an excel file that I use almost everyday. I
am getting this message; Can not access read only file.
Does anyone know how I can get the file open?

Reboot first

Start>Run
Type: %temp%

Clear this all files in this Temp folder and also the sub folders
