Cannot open Excel workbook

I'm getting a message "Hope.xls cannot be accessed. The
file maybe read-only...". I use this file almost everyday
and now I can't open it, can anyone help?
I've cleared out the Temp file and rebooted, but I still
cannot access the file.

Check the properties of the file, make sure it is not read only.
In Excel go to Tools Options General and uncheck ignore other applications
