Can not logon to network

I can not logon to my network. Error message " the
workstation service has not been started". In services the
workstation is set to automatic and is started. At the
command prompt if I type "net start workstation" it says
its started. Workstation using 2000pro sp4, network 2003
 
Maybe try searching for a virus...

Our server running Win2000 one day decided not to let anyone log on after
working perfectly. It had an IRC.Flood virus. By the way, that type of
virus is undectectible by Norton Anti-virus, unless you have the Corporate
or Small Business for Workstations and Servers edition.
