Network path not found

I am trying to migrate approximately ten workstations(and add one additional
server as a member server) from a workgroup to a domain. Most of the
workstations have xp installed, but a few have 2000pro, the server i am
trying to add on to the domain has 2000 server installed on it. I already
have one server set up with active directory as the dc and it is also running
2000 server. when i go into network places, i can see the workgroup and the
domain (entire network) but when i try to add the workstations to the domain
(network identification tab, my computer) it tells me that the network path
cannot be found. what should i do?

How do you have DNS configured? You should have each client looking at the
domain DNS for name resolution (and NOWHERE ELSE), with the domain DNS doing
all external lookups.

Use the DNS tool on the Active Directory domain controller(s) running DNS,
then insert the appropriate settings in each client's network settings
either manually (Control Panel, Network) or using a DHCP server if you have
one.
