Can not link to trusted/legitimate sites.

Aloha

I'm trying to link to a legitimate site from my AAadvantage Page. To
qualify for what I want I MUST link through to the site I need, but I
continually am unable to get there. I have tried all the settings I can
think of (Adding to trusted sites, stopping block ups, adjusting security
levels, even editing host sites in system32 that the original web page
suggested to do if I couldn't connect.)

I notice this in a similar way a while back after the SP2 update. I
couldn't connect to some news stories sites, etc. from pages like Google
News, or the NY Times, but just wrote it off to another hassle.

But now I have to get to a site and I can't. Under my Security Options for
Restricted Sites I've tried applying very low, temporary settings just to try
to get to the site, but no luck.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

It goes to the "pop up page", but always displays this message: The page
cannot be displayed
The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site
might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your
browser settings.

Thanks, Gene

Hi,

There are steps here to try:

HOW TO: Troubleshoot Situations Where You Cannot Complete MSN Sign-up or
Connect to SSL Secured (128-Bit) Web Sites by Using Internet Explorer in
Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=813444

But I would first eliminate the possibility of malware using these:

Adaware www.lavasoft.de
Spybot www.safer-networking.org
