can not get dvd to burn or play

I have a dvd +rw/ cd combo drive the cd part works great but my dvd does not reconize the dvd.dvd did work at one time reinstalled everything just does not work im using roxio 7.0 +powerdvd cyberlink + sonicdvd .this all happened after i restored my pc to a early date when i went to play a dvd nothing it says no disc even i media player 9.0 no disc in tray.done everything from dell support now my free support ran out.im stuck
 
remove the application
uninstall the dvd throught device manager
reboot computer
let windows go thru its, find new device...
reinstall your applications
