I have one message in my outbox that I cannot move or delete. In addition,
when I send a message to myself or my laptop, it stays in the outbox, does
not get to the sent folder nor do I receive it, either to my laptop or my
desktop. However, I can receive outside messages to that e-mail address. I
ran AVG, and it says there is no virus. I would appreciate your help to
delete that message. Thanks

If you used the standard install for AVG, it often helps to uninstall it,
then
do a custom install where you tell it to leave out the part that scans
email.
Even if this doesn't solve your problem, it is likely to prevent problems
later.

You may also need to download and install this hotfix, with Windows
Mail not running:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/941090

Although it's labelled as for mail stuck in the Outbox, it also works in
other folders. If you don't know whether you have the 32-bit version
of Vista or the 64-bit version, try the hotfix for the 32-bit version
first. Certain common antivirus programs, such as most of those
from Norton or McAfee, tend to cause stuck messages and other
problems in Windows Mail, although seldom immediately, so if you
have such a program, remember where to find the hotfix, and hope
it will install again if you need it again. A recent version of the Trend
antivirus program also causes assorted problems in Windows Mail.

The Vista SP1 update includes this hotfix, but takes longer to install.

I tried to install KB941090 after activating the xactivecontrol but down load
did not started. I was able to succeed after signing the web page. Everything
worked out perfectly after logged in. It might be helpful comment if any
other person to face the similar problem.

Thanks again for your suggestion.

If you were able to open and edit emails in the Outbox, then
they weren't really stuck.
