can not access client resources

Hello,
I set up a VPN and the connection appears to be working. I just do not
understand why I can not see or access the resources on the company2.local
machine. When I do an explore it appears that it is going over the VPN to
the company2.local machine but when explore comes back I do not see mapped
drives on company2.local. My machine is a WinXP SP2 on a SBS 2003 network.
The other server is a SBS 2003 system with 1 NIC card. The following is a
ipconfig on my PC after the VPN connection. I can ping the other server.

Windows IP Configuration

Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:

Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : company1.local
IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.16.167
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.16.2

PPP adapter Connect to Small Business Server:

Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : company2.local
IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.16.13
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.255
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.16.13

Thank You,
Joe

What is the IP addressing scheme used on the remote LAN? From your
posting, it looks as if both sites are using the same IP subnet. If that is
the case, nothing will ever go over the VPN link. An IP address in the same
IP subnet is assumed to be local. Traffic will go to the LAN NIC, not to a
router or VPN link.
