Can No Longer Access Theme Controls in Photo Gallery Slideshow

I am running Vista Ultimate with an NVidia 7900 GT video card. I was
experimenting with the built-in slideshow controls and made the mistake of
changing the theme to "glass". From that point on, I get a black screen for
my slideshow and I can neither see nor find any controls that allow me to
return back to the default theme. The only way out of it is to hit the ESC
key. Unfortunately, the tool remembers the choice for subsequent slideshows
which essentially makes the tool worthless.

Has anyone run into this? Does anyone know how to restore the theme to its
default? I can find no reports of this anywhere.

Hi Daniel,

Cick Start, Run and type this command:

reg add "hkcu\software\microsoft\windows photo gallery\slideshow\themes" /v ActiveTheme /d {773AFF18-2083-47C1-9EA9-A5DA346A0122} /f

(It's a single line command).

{773AFF18-2083-47C1-9EA9-A5DA346A0122} is the default theme for slideshows.

Note: I'm using NVIDIA 7300 LE graphics card with the WinSAT score for graphics being as low as 2.8. In order to reproduce the problem, I had to boost the WinSAT score (WinSATScore registry value) to 400 to see the Theme controls in the slideshow.

Good thing is that every theme work perfectly here, and I'm very much impressed with the "Cinematic" theme.

That worked. Thanks Ramesh!
