can MIDI file as an object play in ALL SLIDES?

I am working on a xmas show and I have managed to insert
a MIDI file as an object but by doing so it only plays in
one slide. Does anyone know how can I edit a MIDI file so
maybe I can split the xmas song and make it play
throughout the show? and I dont want to insert the music
file as a .WAV because I intend to e-mail the
presentation to people that dont have DSL so I want to
keep it under 200 kb. Or is there a better way to
accomplish that?
Thanks and Happy Holidays

You don't need to edit the Midi. Instead, insert the sound using
Insert>Movies and Sounds>Sound from File. Set it to play automatically or
triggered, as you prefer. In Custom Animation menu, open the Effect Options
screen for the sound you inserted. Select the "Stop Playing After __ Slides
option and specify the number of slides following the slide with the inserted
Midi you want the sound to span. You may need to also select a repeat option
if the Midi is shorter than the span and you want it to start over. I tested
this solution and it works.

Use Craig's suggestion, but first put the Midi file in the same folder where you
have saved your presentation. Then insert the music file in the presentation.
When you email the presentation also send the midi file and ask the user to save
both files to a folder on their hard drive and play the presentation from there.
