Can IE6 tell me if my favorites have been updated?

I read that previous versions of IE had an indicator on the favorites
menu that would let you know if they'd been updated since you last
visited. Does IE 6 offer that function? I read a lot of blogs, but
many of them aren't updated every day. Hence I waste my time looking
at sites that haven't changed.

Thanks,
Zach

I thought I read that IE 5 had a Smart Favorites feature that did
that. I'm pretty sure that IE on my Mac offers that too.

Frank,

I think he is referring to "subscribed" Favorites.
They do give a red "gleam" on the top of the icon if an update is detected
via a scheduled update or perhaps just using the Synchronize command
(Alt-T,S).

I used to use it quite a bit on IE4, less on IE5 and now on IE6 hardly ever.
It's still there; the reason I don't use it as much is because too many sites
are now non-cacheable; so offline Favorites just don't work the way they
used to.

If CDF files had caught on we could even get E-mail notification
if they had changed.

(TechNet search for
subscrib* Favorites CDF
)

Hmm... apparently there has been a terminology change in IE6.
In IE press F1 and enter subscrib* in the Search window.
Then click on
"Making pages available for offline viewing"

Go into Tools>Synchronize, select a page you want to be notified about, then Properties>Download. Select: When this page changes..

Does this feature actually work? I can't get it to

Thank
Stev
