can ie 6 be text only?

Hi,
I'm on dial up for a while and was wondering if
i could turn off all the media features in ie6. I think
i remember way back when, ver 4 or so, there was a
switch for converting it to text only. Can you do that in ie 6? I wasn't
able to find a switch for it.

Here you go:

Tools > Internet Options > Advanced tab > make your selections in the
Multimedia section.

Bear in mind that while you may be able to turn your browser into 'text
only', the web is definitely not text only. You may find many web pages
frustrating to read, if not impossible.
