Can I use still Pics?

I am new to this program and I was wondering if I could
use still photos from my digital still camera to make
a "slide show" type movie with all the sound and effects
that you use in a video?

Yes you certainly can, just import them and add them to the storyboard /
timeline and add transitions as necessary. You can also consider using
Photostory which allows you to easily create movies out of your photos with
pans and zooms.

give away Movie Maker 2?
