Hi All,

Just my personal preference, but I like my Window's
Explorer (explorer.exe not IE) right pane to open in
"view, list" mode. My default is "large icons."
("large icons" drive me nuts! Not enough information
showing and they don't autoarrange.)

Is there a registry setting or otherwise that I can
make that will cause explorer.exe to open all right
pane windows as "list"?

Many thanks,

The Default for Windows XP is to remember the view settings for the 400 most
recently used folders.
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm
Line #2 - Increase Folder View Size Limit to 8000

Note: Apply to all folders does not stick:
If you are using TweakUI/Uncheck Only allow Windows Classic Shell

If you want all the Folders to open the same, in Windows Explorer, set the Folder how
you wish to have it and then go to Tools, select Folder Options, View and apply to
all Folders.

Open Explorer - Set up a window exactly as you would like for the
default including other aspects like size and position. In its Tools -
Folder Options - View ensure that 'remember each folder's view settings'
is checked, then click on Apply to All

Isn't Usenet Wonderful?

Thanks for your information, which I found here today.
Just exactly what I wanted to know, and the """help""" on Win Explorer
doesn't even have a helpfile, apparentley!!!
