Can I set pointer as 'visible' by default?

I have a PPT activity that requires regular clicking on hyperlinked objects,
so the pointer needs to be visible at all times. I know I can set this once
I'm in the presentation/slideshow, but it has to be done every time it's
opened. Is there any way of saving the option as 'pointer visible', or
setting it as a default somehow?

You can click Slide Show > Set Up Show.
Then, under show type, select "Browsed at a kiosk".
Click ok.

Take note that mouse click will also be disabled. Hence, you will need to
set hyperlink to previous and next slide.
