Can I set one of my 2 calendars as a default so it ALWAYS opens it

J

I have 2 Outlook accounts (therefore 2 calendars). When I close out/log off
of Account A, go into Account B, then close and go back into A, B's calendar
is the calendar that it automatically shows because that was the last
calendar viewed. However, when I open up mailbox A, I want calendar A to
show (and similarly, when I log out of A and am now in B, I want B's calendar
to open).......This is a new problem that I am experiencing now that I have
2007- it worked fine in 2003. Any solutions?

This is not a proper logical inferrence. Two accounts does not imply two
calendars. What kind of accounts?

At my work I both have a personal account and also have a 2nd account that is
called "Education" and it is the generic department email account. I must
completely log out of one to get to the other, with the exception of the
shared calendars- where I have it set so that I can view the "Education"
email's calendar from my personal account.

At work, I have 2 accounts- one personal one- my email is my name (i.e.
JSmith); and a second account is the general department email box, named
"Education." In order to open my personal email, I must log out of
Education, and then log back in now as myself (JSmith). Each mailbox has
it's own calendar. When I am in my personal outlook (JSmith), I can view
Education's calendar because it is shared. Unfortunately, because I was last
logged in to the Education mailbox, it automatically shows the Education
calendar instead of defaulting back to JSmith- does that make sense? If not,
let me know where I need to elaborate- thanks!

Are you speaking of logging out of Windows or merely closing Outlook and
restarting it? If the former, then you can certainly share the data the
other Windows user accesses, provided it's in a place available to both
Windows users. If you mean the latter, you're speaking of mail profiles and
you should also be able to access each profile's data from the other profile
and even set the delivery location in each profile to the same place. You
mentioned "shared" calendars. Can I imply from that that you are using an
Exchange account in one or both mail profiles?

I apologize for not being clear- I do not have a lot of technical knowledge
here. I am referencing logging in and out of two different OUTLOOK profiles
(not of windows in general). Also, in reference to your statement about
accessing the data- yes I am aware of this. I am able to access the
calendars. My problem is that Outlook remembers whatever calendar I had open
last, regardless of which "profile" I am on. So, because I was in the
Education profile last, when I open my "JSmith" profile, the calendar that it
automatically shows is the Education one. what I would like is to override
this smart" feature of Outlook so that when I open the JSmith profile, the
JSmith calendar is the calendar that opens by default. If I open the
Education profile, I want it to open the Education calendar by default....so
I don't want it remembering the last calendar I was in........does that make
sense?

I don't believe it. Each mail profile has a separate delivery location and
you can have that delivery location be one PST for all profiles or a
separate PST for each. In the latter case, the default calendar will change
for each profile. Is Outlook asking you which profile you wish to use each
time you close it and restart it? That's the only way it would "remember".
So, because I was in the Education profile last,
when I open my "JSmith" profile, the calendar that it automatically

So how are you switching profiles. Describe everything you see during the
process.

I have noticed the same thing!

We have a departmental shared email account SupportEducation and I have my
personal account, so I have profiles setup in MS Windows and when I access
Outlook I choose which email account I want to use.

I also have the departmental Calendar shared. So I can view one or both
calendars at the same time in my personal session.

I have noticed that the settings seem to default from the last Outlook
session - when I sign in with the departmental account I see that calendar.
When I sign in with my account I often have both viewable - however, if I
sign in with the departmental account after that and sign back in with my
personal account the original settings I used have been cleared.

It appears that Outlook must write something to the registry that fails to
identify which Outlook account is being used.

I am having the same issue as described by "Doug." We have a departmental
email account, "Customer Service" that I can access (when I launch Outlook, I
get the option of which account to sign in to). If I log into my personal
email account, I can view the Customer Service calendar as a shared calendar.
I normally just overlay my personal calendar and the shared Customer Service
calendar. However, if I close Outlook, then re-launch it and log into the
Customer Service email box, then log out and back into my personal account,
the calendar settings seem to be reset, and I only see the Customer Service
calendar shared calendar (the box for my personal calendar unchecks itself).
This gets confusing because at a glance, I might mistake the Customer Service
calendar for my own. I know I can just go back in and check the box to make
my calendar appear again, but there should be a way for Outlook to remember
the settings for each account, regardless of if I'm signing on using the same
Windows profile.

Why don't up open both mailboxes in the same profile? It will save logging
off and on.

When you log off and back on, do you get the choose profile dialog?
