Can I sell xp?

Hello Everyone

I recently purchased (more than 30 days ago) xp home edition
My hard drive died immediately thereafter and i bought a new computer
Of course, i no longer need my purchased version of xp
Can i sell the version that i purchased
The old computer is in the local landfill
Does anyone have a common sense answer for this
I've read the other posts and the legalise, and am unsure how to proceed

If it is a retail version you can sell it. You must include the COA and
everything that came with it. If it is an OEM version that came with your
previous computer I don't think you are supposed to (but people still do).

If its a retail version of xp that you bought, if its not installed on any
computer, and if you have all the product documentation, media, and product
key and give them to the buyer, then yes you can sell it.

Yes, if it's a retail license, you may resell it. The specific
conditions are spelled out in your EULA:

" Transfer to Third Party. The initial user of the
Product may make a one-time transfer of the Product to
another end user. The transfer has to include all
component parts, media, printed materials, this EULA, and
if applicable, the Certificate of Authenticity. The
transfer may not be an indirect transfer, such as a
consignment. Prior to the transfer, the end user receiving
the transferred Product must agree to all the EULA terms. "

Provided it was a retail copy, and not one of the OEM ones you can
transfer it. OEM ones, sold with a piece of hardware and marked 'for
supply only with a new computer' are licensed solely for the machine
where they are first installed

For a retail one you simply remove from the present machine (effectively
you have done this) , and hand over all materials (CD; Product Key; Cert
of Authenticity and any documentation), and the new owner installs on
the new machine in the regular way. When it comes to activation, if it
is more than 120 days since you last did it, he will find it will go
through on the net just like first time. If not, he will have to phone
a toll-free number that will be given, to explain and swap one long
number for another to check back on typing it in
